Tajikistan ranked 46 out of 124 countries in the 2023 Philanthropy Index , which is published on the World Population Review website.
The World Giving Index is an index for monitoring the level of government charitable activities.
It was developed by the English company Charities Aid Foundation in 2010. The rating is based on research conducted by the American Gallup Institute.
The data is based on the results of surveys of the urban population and takes into account monetary donations, the number of people involved in the provision of charitable assistance (in%), as well as the general attitude of the country’s population towards charitable and volunteer activities.
Other forms of assistance to those in need are also taken into account, in addition to monetary ones.
The higher the country is in the ranking, the more people there are involved in charity work.
The overall rate of charity in the country was 36%.
Slightly higher than Tajikistan are Turkmenistan (43% total charity) and Uzbekistan (41%).
Below in the ranking are Kyrgyzstan (33%), Afghanistan (31%), Kazakhstan (26%) and Russia (21%).
In first place with a total charity rate of 58% was the United States, in last place was Greece with 16%.
Meanwhile, in Tajikistan there are quite a lot of those who need help, so earlier we made a selection of organizations where anyone in need can apply for help.
