More than 20 highly qualified precision medicine specialists from Saudi Arabia volunteered to conduct cardiac surgeries and catheterization among adults in Kyrgyzstan from November 10-17.
The charity action is carried out through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Al Balsam Foundation for Training and Health Development at the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation and at the National Center of Cardiology and Therapy named after Academician Mirsaid Mirrahimov in Bishkek.
Doctors will perform about 60 cardiac catheterization surgeries and 17 open-heart surgeries free of charge.
This action aims to support the national health care sector of the Kyrgyz Republic and is continuation of activities of the Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in a number of fraternal and friendly countries with the purpose of provision of medical assistance to needy citizens and families, the Saudi Embassy in Bishkek said.
Cardiac catheterization involves inserting a thin, flexible plastic tube into the heart through an artery for the purpose of surgery or examination of the organ.
