AKIPRESS.COM – The Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan held a reception with the concert program on the occasion of the Spring Festival in Bishkek on January 6.
First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev delivered a speech on behalf of the Kyrgyz government.
Ambassador Du Dewen in her speech noted that both countries celebrated the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met twice, reached important agreements on the comprehensive and in-depth development of Chinese-Kyrgyz relations.
The volume of trade between China and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $3 billion 414 million from January to October 2022 and broke a historical record.
The Ambassador emphasized the cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The documents were signed on the projects of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, Chui Bypass Canal, reconstruction of Bishkek road network, reconstruction of the rural irrigation system, provision of two mobile hospitals and 100 fire trucks by China, she noted. The construction of the North-South Alternate Road is progressing at an accelerated pace.
The Embassy also implements social projects such as providing 20 schools in Kyrgyzstan with interactive panels, providing equipment for sewing and confectionery shops in 5 border districts of Batken region, organizing training courses for women to improve their professional skills, opening development centers for children in mountainous pastures, reconstructing the center of Chinese culture and education of the Kyrgyz National Library, construction of a choreographic hall and a Chinese language center for school No. 95.
The Chinese side also provided technical assistance to the Parliament, the Olympic team and other organizations, provided humanitarian and financial assistance of $100,000 to the affected population of Batken region.
