At the Asian Games in Hangzhou (China), the final bout in women’s wrestling took place in the 76 kilogram weight category, writes Sports.kz.
The gold medal was contested by the representative of the Kazakhstan national team, Zhamilya Bakbergenova , and the Kyrgyz athlete Aiperi Medet kyzy . The advantage was on the side of Medet Kyzy – 7:4. Thus, she became the champion of the Asian Games, and Bakbergenova finished the competition with silver.
It should be noted that Zhamilya Bakbergenova is a three-time Asian champion and a two-time silver medalist at the world championships, while Aiperi Medet kyzy is the winner of the 2022 Championships.
Currently, Kazakhstan has 67 medals in its medal box, of which nine are gold, 17 are silver and 41 are bronze.
