Students from 14 universities of Kyrgyzstan won 28 medals at the II Universiade of the Organization of Turkic States. In total, about 500 students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Hungary took part in it. The press service of the Ministry of Education reported.
Athletes from Kyrgyzstan took 1st place in men’s futsal, 2nd place in women’s volleyball and 3rd place in men’s volleyball. Amanat Samat uulu, a student of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Kyrgyz students also won:
- In Greco-Roman wrestling — 4 silver and 1 bronze medals;
- In judo among women — 2 silver and 3 bronze medals;
- In judo among men — 1 silver and 6 bronze medals;
- In freestyle wrestling — 1 silver and 2 bronze medals;
- Chess — 4 bronze medals.
The Universiade flag was handed to representatives of Kyrgyzstan, since the III Universiade of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2025.
