President Sadyr Japarov, in an interview with the national news agency “Kabar” on December 6, once again reiterated that there are forces that intend to take advantage of the rally of merchants who oppose the use of cash registers in Kyrgyzstan.
The head of state said that businessmen went to protests with the intention of delivering their demands to the authorities, but law enforcement agencies have information about those who intend to use them for their own benefit.
“There are those who used to “eat from the big manger” and wanted to take advantage of their rally, today there are those who are unemployed and criminals calling each other and saying, “You go to that market, you go to this market, get as many people out as possible.” Some of them sent their own people. All this was registered with special services. If the special service says that it is not confidential for the sake of the investigation, you will hear from the sources. That’s why I told them: “Don’t let third forces take advantage of you.” How can ordinary traders who have no money inside know that such forces have infiltrated and worked. That’s why they don’t shout that there is no one behind us. We can understand it correctly,” said the president.
On December 5, Sadyr Japarov, in a meeting with traders at the “Dordoy” market on the outskirts of Bishkek, said that “special forces are behind the actions in the markets”.
Businessmen demanding that the patent system remain in place immediately responded to the president and said that there are no third forces behind them.
On December 6, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SSC) Kamchybek Tashiev said that some provocateurs want to turn the traders’ rallies into politics at the event of the opening of the new building of the Alamud district administration of the special service.
On November 29-30, the sellers of Kara-Suu in Osh and “Dordoy”, “Madina”, Orto-Sai bazaar in Bishkek, on December 1, “Alamudun” in the capital, Osh, Talas, and Karakol in Issyk-Kul held a rally.
On December 2, the merchants of the “Kudaibergen” market in Bishkek, selling car parts, went on strike with the same demand.
On December 4, the merchants of the “Dordoy Motors” market in Bishkek and the merchants of the “Bulak” market in Tokmok protested against the KCM and demanded to leave the patent system.
On December 5, merchants of the “Bereket Grand” shopping center in the Osh market area, as well as businessmen working in the Naryn market, held an action against the KCM.
After these events, on December 5, Sadyr Japarov met with the workers at the “Dordoy” market on the outskirts of Bishkek and said that in Kyrgyzstan, the traders in the market were allowed to work with a patent until July.
From January 1, 2024, those engaged in trading in the markets had to use KCM. Entrepreneurs are protesting against the CCM’s burdens. The government reiterates that if this system is implemented, the share of the shadow economy will decrease.
