The chairmanship of the CIS passed from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan for 2023, Report informs. The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has promised that his country, as the chair of the Commonwealth, will pay special attention to strengthening good neighborliness and trust among member states. The decision regarding Bishkek’s chairmanship was made at the CIS summit in Astana on October 14, 2022. Russia and Kazakhstan will be co-chairs. Earlier, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev noted that Kyrgyzstan was ready to chair the organization.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has departed for St.Petersburg for participation in the traditional unformal meeting of the heads of the CIS states, the press service of the president said. Report informs, citing the Kyrgyz media, that the delegation included Muratbek Azymbakiev, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isaev, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Russia Gulnara-Klara Samat. Kyrgyzstan recorded an increase in volume of remittance inflows in October 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan. According to the bank, money transfers to Kyrgyzstan in October this year increased by 13.7 percent compared to the same month in 2021 ($252.3 million) – up to $286.9 million.
