A Russian military-diplomatic source said that there is information about plans to transfer a detachment of Ukrainian saboteurs to Africa.
“The task of the Ukrainian unit trained by the British special services will be to carry out sabotage at infrastructure facilities in African countries, as well as to eliminate African leaders focused on interaction with Russia,” he said.
According to him, the departure of the Ukrainian sabotage unit is planned by a civilian sea vessel from the port of Izmail (Ukraine) to Omdurman (Sudan) by the end of August.
The Ukrainian detachment is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vitaliy Praschuk, the source said.
According to him, several sources confirmed the information that in order to counteract the development of cooperation between African countries and Russia, the British intelligence service MI-6 formed a detachment of members of Ukrainian radical formations.
“At the request of London, in July, the Kiev regime issued relevant instructions to the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense to provide maximum and prompt assistance to representatives of the British intelligence service MI-6 and the SAS special forces in the selection of 100 militants from the Ukrainian national formations with significant combat experience on the “Eastern Front”, – the source said.
He added that in 2014-2016, Praschuk commanded a sabotage and reconnaissance group and took part in hostilities in the Donbass. Praschuk also served in the Ukrainian 73rd Naval Special Forces Center, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, participated in joint special operations of the Main Intelligence Directorate and British intelligence in Zimbabwe, the source noted.
After being transferred to the reserve in 2019, Praschuk was elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the party of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “Servant of the People” and was an officer in the GUR reserve at the time the special military operation of the Russian Federation began, the source said.
