Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov on Friday, September 1 2023, claimed to be able to see the future prospects of his country in the next few decades. Japarov made this claim a week after the opening of a high school for gifted children, who Japarov said should be trained to be able to predict and determine Kyrgyzstan’s future.
“I have this ability, to see what will happen to our country in 20 or 30 years. I have been given this ability by God,” Japarov said in an interview with local TV after the high school’s opening ceremony.
According to him, everyone can predict the future simply by observing what is happening now. President Japarov then criticized the existing system of hiring public officials, saying Kyrgyzstan had forgotten a system of professional training after gaining independence from the Soviet Union and that Kyrgyzstan still practices nepotism.
“The state will start training new cadets from scratch. Only then will they be able to predict the future of Kyrgyzstan up to a century into the future and define this future,” said President Japarov.
Japarov, 54 years old, has served as President of Kyrgyzstan since 2021. He previously served as interim Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan . After returning from military duty in 1989, Japarov continued his studies and in 2006 he graduated from Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University as a law major.
The presidential high school opened by Japarov will be held at the end of August 2023. It is hoped that this school can accept 400 students, whose selection process is based on national selection every year. Those who can register for the competition to be accepted into this school are those who have been in elementary school for six years. For the 2023 academic year, there will only be 75 students admitted to this school.
