The share of profitable companies among all enterprises with foreign investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 38.9 percent in 2023, Trend reports via the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
The amount of profit they received amounted to 78 billion som (about $909 million). At the same time, compared to 2022, the share of profitable enterprises increased by 0.9 percentage points, and the amount of profit increased by 16.2 billion soms ($188.8 million).
The share of loss-making enterprises accounted for 33.2 percent of the total number of companies with foreign investment, and the amount of their losses amounted to 36.9 billion som ($430 million).
According to the results of 2023, companies with foreign capital in all regions of the country, except for Naryn, Issyk-Kul, and Batken regions, showed positive financial results.
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan operated a total of 4,264 enterprises with foreign investment, of which 72 percent had full participation from foreign capital. Compared to 2019, the number of enterprises with foreign investment increased by 22.7 percent, and compared to 2022, by 21.3 percent.
